Myocardial Blood Flow in Coronary Artery Disease
نویسنده
چکیده
Sixteen patients, 10 with significant three-vessel coronary artery disease (>50% occlusion of each vessel) and six without coronary disease, had nutrient myocardial blood flow, cardiac output, pressure time/ min and arterial pressure determinations at rest, with atrial pacing and with right atrial pacing plus nitroglycerin. In the patients with coronary disease, nutrient myocardial blood decreased an average of 16% (P < 0.001) with pacing alone but increased by 22% (P < 0.001) from the pacing flows with the addition of 0.4 mg sublingual nitroglycerin at the same pacing rate. The directional changes in myocardial blood flow were unrelated to perfusion pressure or pressure work. In the patients without coronary dis-

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction
Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
متن کاملMyocardial perfusion scan accuracy in detection of coronary artery disease - Comparison with exercise stress test [Persian]
Introduction: In patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) noninvasive evaluation for detection of ischemia is important to avoid invasive interventions like angiography. Exercise stress test is conventionally the first study used in evaluation of CAD. Considering the noninvasive nature of the myocardial perfusion scan, we decided to compare its accuracy with stress test. Methods: Patie...

متن کاملThe effect of turbulence model on predicting the development and progression of coronary artery atherosclerosis
A severe case of stenosis in coronary arteries results in turbulence in the blood flow which may lead to the formation or progression of atherosclerosis. This study investigated the turbulent blood flow in a coronary artery with rigid walls, as well as 80% single and double stenoses on blood flow. A finite element-based software package, ADINA 8.8, was employed to model the blood flow. The hemo...
